Here are some resources and links I thought may be helpful for you. As Organic Homemaking grows, so will this list. So be sure to check back for additions. If you have a suggestion for the Resource page, please email me at amanda.k.sills@myorganichomemaking.com. As well, please understand that while I recommend the overall content of these websites, I may not necessarily support every aspect of a particular site.
Have fun!
Homemaking
Simple Mom - A very popular blog for home managing. I get so many great ideas from this site on traveling with kids, recipe ideas, how to organize my closets and so much more.
Keeper of the Home - One of the first blogs I read on homemaking. It has taught me so much about everything from cooking with real foods, to budgeting our money, to drinking raw milk to having a natural pregnancy and birth. It is probably my favorite sight to reference.
Passionate Homemaking - Again, one of my favorite blogs! This site also contains video blogs quite often, which I love. A lot of my ideas for my Homemaking Binder came from this site!
Small Notebook - Great site that focuses on simplicity in the home!

Homegrown Mom - A wonderful site on homemaking. I'm new to this page but it is quickly growing on me!
Cooking Real Food
The Nourishing Gourmet - This wonderful blog features lots of recipes using whole foods. She also includes the whys of cooking with real foods.
Allrecipes - This site is a great comprehensive source of recipes. I use it all the time and you can find almost anything!
Simple Bites - From the same creator of Simple Mom, this blog gives great advice for anything in the kitchen!
Tammy's Recipes - Let me tell you there are some great recipes on her site! I found this website when I was really delving into cooking from scratch. Her recipes are healthy and easy to follow, which is what I needed then (and what I still need now!).

Taking Care of Mom
Earth Mama Angel Baby - This site has some wonderful products for expectant mothers, postpartum wellness and babies. All of their products are non-toxic.
Well Grounded Life - A whole site dedicated to helping mom's take care of themselves in healthy ways.
Sustainability & Green Living
Safe Mama - This wonderful resource has helped me so much with news and information on what is safe for your family to use. It also has information on toxic substances in products and healthy substitutes.
The Daily Green - A great site on 'going green'. Lots of fun facts if your new to green living.
Cosmetic Database - This site has been so valuable to me when searching for non-toxic make-up and toiletries. Search for products by category and find what they have been rated on a scale from 0-10 with 10 being highly toxic. It will also list every ingredient with it's own toxicity rating and the effects it may have on your body.
gDiapers - Hybrid diaper brand we most often use for its versatility. They can be bought with flushable/compostable inserts or cloth inserts. And they are so cute! We often buy ours from discount sites but this page will give you the hows and whys of gdiapers, plus how-to videos!

Being Frugal
Organic Grocery Deals - A forum for finding coupons and deals for organic food.
Note: Most of the sights above, like Keeper of the Home, Simple Mom, Passionate Homemaking...they contain a vast amount of information on living a healthy lifestyle on a budget. Check them out as well and look for their 'frugal' tabs.

Sites I Love
Real Simple - This site is great for recipes, organizing ideas...and well a ton of stuff. Just like the magazine, the website is great! Something else I love about Realsimple.com is their frequent use of videos to illustrate a craft or organizing technique, etc. Mercola - As you've probably noticed, I reference this site a lot in my posts. It has so much information about drugs, eating healthy, vaccines and artificial sweeteners. I will say some of Dr. Mercola's information doesn't always seem applicable to the common person but don't let that scare you away from using his site as a resource! He has some of the most accurate information I've found on many health issues.
Simple Homeschool - My kids are not school age yet but this site encourages me to make learning a part of every day life. Started by the same woman who began Simple Mom, but it is mainly written by a very smart woman named Jamie Martin. She also blogs at Steady Mom and has written a great book, Steady Days. Even if you don't homeschool, this is a great site for ideas in learning at home!
