So what have we been up to here in Calhoun, Kentucky? September has proven for 3 years in a row what a busy month it is. We had activities every weekend, almost every evening. Not that I mind :-) We've been able to spend time with some awesome people. Rod is doing home studies with some of the coolest people I've been able to meet lately. And...well, we've also been eating a lot of food. :-)
He may not appreciate my blog as much after posting this...
Our little men are getting big. I can't stop it. Isaac's been saying, "When I grow up and get big, mama and daddy will be reeeeaaal sad!" Rod taught him that. Thanks. Rub it in.
Super Bub is learning to articulate his feelings and quite well. Several times I've caught him pointing his little one-year-old finger at Isaac and shouting, "NO!"
But having a sibling has taught them to attempt to share. On rare occasions I see them swapping toys and saying 'tank to' (thank you). Isaac's also developed a love of all things Leap Frog and asks to watch it first thing in the morning. I can't say I mind after some of the flops we've watched lately. It's educational and I don't have to worry about him emulating bullies and sarcastic kids because there aren't any. It's one show I can put on, leave the room and feel good that he's watching. Bubby likes it too and it's teaching him to count (he remembers 5 and 8...and that's it).
I've been busy with my WEI students (online English classes) and learning Russian. Yes, that's right, Russian. I have a great friend to thank for that. She challenges me academically. :-) I sound ridiculous but I've found that I'm more likely to actually learn and practice speaking a new language now than when I was in High School. And my brain feels like it's getting a workout.
I also completed my no sugar challenge, feeling great! I still haven't had any dark sodas although I occasionally have Sprite or Ginger Ale. That's a far cry from drinking Dr. Pepper every day and I'm super happy about those changes. Working on my sugar habits have helped me transition to working on my eating habits overall and I'm fairly certain I'll be doing a juice feast in the near future. I'll post more about that later :-)
No household projects lately. My priorities have dictated I take a break from painting. And I'm ok with that. I think I needed a break. I do have some old projects I still need to share with you all so you should see that soon.
I hope that helps with what we've been up to!
